Current Employee – been working at Chico's FAS part-time for more than a year
Pros – Chico's has a good starting salary. They pay fair bonuses for sales. They have great markdowns and sales and have good discounts for employees. They are now offering full time and part time health benefits for those who can afford them.
Cons – There is stiff competition among workers for sales with staff members taking other staff customers. It is frowned upon by Management and we are encouraged to inform them of such practices. You are constantly pushed to get your sales and your numbers up and year end reviews reflect your ability to sell. The store I work at is in a tourist area where the tourists are from all over he world and country and is seasonal. Often there are days when NO ONE comes in.
Advice to Senior Management – Understand the flow of traffic, treat lower staff with respect (especially for age as some lower staff and MUCH older than management.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
