I worked at Chili's part-time (less than a year)

Pros

The training is great! Corporate really cares and helps provide servers/bartenders with extraordinary training.

Cons

Management sometimes sounds scripted. Corporate trains them to answer each scenario with a script.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember that the employees are PEOPLE. Keep it real, knock of the "corporate says to answer this question this-a-way" bs- we can see right through that. Remember to be compassionate.

    I have been working at Chili's part-time

    Pros

Good money on weekends. Generally all of the food is good. The fellow TMs are usually fun and when MGT allows, can have a great time.

    Cons

Too much back work, MGT takes advantage of servers low hourly rate. Unreachable goals such as sales/hr, guests/hr, and earnings/hr. Unreachable because of the amount of extra hours that is spent doing back work and rolling silverware is sometimes just as long (or longer) than the time spent actually serving tables. MGT plays favorites and gives better shifts to favorites. MGT stresses GEM comments and good numbers to obtain good shifts, but does not follow through. Dirty plates/cups/silverware. MGT not helpful in fixing problems.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Servers are the face of the restaurant, don't overwork them where they don't enjoy working there.
