Former Employee - Front Desk Agent in Oslo (Norway)

I worked at Choice Hotels full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Working as a front desk agent is always nice, however, working for Choice made me feel that I always got the support from the co-workers and managers to make the work place even better.

Cons

There is not much to say that is bad about working here. If I would have to say anything it is that in the specific hotel I used to work at, the new management is apparently too preoccupied with figures nowadays, at the expense of the ground level staff. This ultimately leads to reduced overall performance, as the ground level staff (especially front desk) are the one of the biggest contributors to high customer satisfaction.

    Pros

    benefits used to be good

    Cons

They should be called Sitel, that is who takes all the calls for choice hotels now. They have sold all reservation calls and CP member calls to Sitel a huge call center with centers all over the world. Still answer the phone with "thanks for calling Choice Hotels" though, what a joke.

Another company taking jobs out of this country so the fat cats still get their yearly growing bonus on the backs of a whole of under paid sales agents.
