I have been working at Christopher Newport University

    Pros

Business casual dress in the summer. Open parking only when students are on breaks. Folks are nice and usually helpful.

    Cons

Employees must pay for parking decals but are sometimes forced to park in rarely used parking garage to make sure "guests" can park easily. Should be dedicated parking lots for staff/faculty.
Employees are not encouraged to seek training opportunities. Yearly town hall meetings conducted by the President are mandatory. Money spent on building new buildings but not on recruiting and retaining much needed professors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take advice offered by students, staff, and faculty. If a policy or procedure does not work and you KNOW it does not, make the necessary change. Those poor rules affect a lot of students.
