I have been working at Chrysler Financial

Pros

A haven for cogs, the ideal employee unquestioningly executes tasks according to ISO documentation and maintains the status quo..

It has a slow pace and great work life balance. Benefits are good, holidays are generous.

Cons

It is a Dilbert like work environment. Information is disseminated via the rumor mill. Promotion is via the good old boys network.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase you networking because you just got bought. Plan carefully how to invest your golden parachute. Be grateful you have a golden parachute because what goes around comes around.

    Inexperienced first line supervisors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire enough people to handle the call volume so that we can actually have a work life balance & be honest with us. Hire based on skills & experience, not because someone kisses up to you. Please have a more flexible attendance policy that does not discriminate against working mothers.

    I worked at Chrysler Financial

    Pros

The compensation was in alignment with the position. The hours were somewhat flexible in the department I worked in, as long as you were able to get your 40 hours in by the end of the week. I enjoyed the actual position, working with individual and commercial consumers, facilitating communication and assisting them with the matters of their vehicles.

    Cons

The system that they have set up where the majority of their workers are hired on a temporary basis creates a very poor morale. The actual employees of the company really treat the temporaries as if they are lower class employees ( very unspoken), the company attempts to create this happy go lucky environment with the activites, but it appears to really be an illision and a failed attempt. I believe it would better serve the company and the employees to invest in better HR practices to line up the employees with the over all long term objectives of the organization. Your turn around rate is extremely high, and the entire experience working there was a nightmare. Very poor job in communicating the core values of the org to the employees. Some of your supervisors were lacking extremely in working knowledge and leading your people. With that said, ethics starts from the top and works its way down. Stop hiring temp employees and make better choices in terms of incorporating your HRM into your practices, develop the HR department in better recruiting, job analysis, employee development procedures. The temp/contract system doesn't appear to be effective for your organization. The statistics and studies will prove, that when your people are better oriented and socilaized and developed your profitability/ productivity increases ( Im sure you know this) however, don't just do this with your permanent employees !! Just overall a very poorly structured company, very sad .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Many of the managers I encountered did not practice consistant policies and procedures. They may let one of their employees do something and not the other. Very unprofessional at times and lack of good and fair judgement. It seemed the entire staff was based on favoritism, not performance based. The supervisors did not add much value to the team. Poor leadership skills
