Chrysler Employee Review
Chrysler – “Cerebus cannot wait to sell Chrysler--Why Chrysler is not the place for you!”

Chrysler used to be a great place to work back in the 1990's. Chrysler recruited the best and diverse candidates into their Chrysler Institute of Engineering (CIE) Program which was a two year six month rotational management trainee program, whereby Chrysler paid for you to earn a masters degree. The CIE and the Engineering Graduate Training (EGT) programs lured some of the best talent to the company. Unfortunately they have since reduced the number of CIEs (only from interns and no direct hires). Chrysler has a hard time retaining CIEs and talent in the company. There were also some good career opportunities in manufacturing operations, if you are willing to sacrafice work life balance.
Cons
There are many downsides of working at Chrysler. Chrysler has poor work life balance and does not support women in manufacturing who choose to have children (pregnancy and maternity leave). There is too much personal vendittas and too much politics. In manufacturing, the management personnel are ruled by the union; management constantly tries to appease the union instead of doing the right thing, they do what is easy. The manufacturing goals are unrealistics and are set up to ensure you fail (unless you cheat); senior management awards bad behavior and as a result, the good people are not retained. The bonuses the Sr Exec and COO/CEO recieve are not aligned with company performance...they get rich when they should be sacraficing for the company. Lastly, poor production design, planning and execution/launch are a major issue at Chrysler as well.
Advice to Senior Management
Starting with Bob Nardelli, get rid of top 50 executives, improve product designs, plans and launches, invest in manufacturing facilities...instead of cutting cut, get rid of redunant products and invest in quality inside the vehicle and put money back into facilities that need it.

A typical case of sour grapes.
Good luck to you and your family.
