Never a dull moment... but very chaotic

Senior Manager (Manufacturing Engineering) (Current Employee)
Auburn Hills, MI

ProsWide variety of people and responsibilities to work with; somewhat autonomous

ConsChanging senior management priorities; unreliable product planning driving chaotic vehicle programs and bad volume management on the supply side... tarnished image. Can get too political at times.

Advice to Senior ManagementProduct feasibility and development cycle not organized in the most efficient order - many disparate decisions drive excessive rework in peer departments because of the wrong order of decision events. Reward innovation and cost avoidance over cowboys that can save the program - keep in mind that avoiding launch chaos is superior to reacting effectively to a crisis.
