I have been working at Chrysler full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Flexible work environment

Nice cafeteria with multiple lunch options.

    Cons

    Hard work does not pay.

Make you work consistently extra without paying overtime.

Don't care about employees career preferences. Won't let you move ahead in career.

Customers, quality, etc. are not the focus, bottom line is.

Bad management. Decisions take long time. When taken, most management decisions are wrong/bad for both the customers and the employees.

No clear hierarchy. No consistent management structure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care about your employees. Take what they want in their career more seriously and don't reward the hard work with a demotion.

I have been working at Chrysler full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Pay and benefits are good, the Auburn Hills facilities are great, and working in the automotive industry can be challenging and exciting with all of the new developments.

    Cons

Corporate culture and morale have deteriorated over the last 30 years. The environment before the Daimler fiasco was great, although it was somewhat seat-of-the-pants due to the leadership of people like Bob Lutz. Daimler took all that away and left us for dead. Cerberus took a bad situation, made it worse, and bankrupt the company. Under Sergio things are looking up, but there is a very high level of stress and morale is low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quality isn't something you can get from the lowest cost supplier, it must be paid for. Maybe more importantly, though, is that people need to be treated with dignity and respect. Management has the 16 leadership principles that employees are expected to abide by, but management isn't held to the same standards. Some mid-level and upper management are the worst that I have seen in the 30 years that I've been with the company.
