    I worked at Cisco Systems

    Pros

There are lots of smart people and the "Cisco culture" is great. A lot of cool projects to work on.

    Cons

Since the company is so large, projects are sometimes spread across multiple locations, and any administration or access privilege changes take a long time to happen.

If you don't want to be overworked and underpaid, stay away. Good place to start your career though.

    I worked at Cisco Systems

    Pros

Good place to start your career and to gain corporate experience. Benefits are slightly above average if you land the right position and the environment is extremely flexible when it comes to working hours.

    Cons

It is an extremely political environment and individual contributors get their careers affected when they don't follow the game, sometimes without even realizing it. Executive leadership has developed this huge EGO that makes it practically impossible for the employee's feedback to be taken into consideration and make effective changes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It seems that in this company lately all you need to do is talk to be promoted. Execution is very slow because of that, nobody pays attention to it, they just talk. Senior and executive management just talk and live in a world totally different than that of the employees. Big changes are necessary to put this company back on track and first step: Time for a CEO change. You cannot be CEO and chairman of the board for that long, how come nobody out there notices that?
