“Bittersweet”
Current Employee – been working at Cisco Systems full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Great opportunity for technical experience.
Great co-workers on my teams.
There are many small perks such as free exercise facility and on-campus dining, banking, etc.
Cons – Losing the 'Cisco culture' and becoming another Nortel, IBM, etc.
Touts teamwork while at the same time implementing 'stack-ranking' and bottom 5% reductions or force-outs.
Reacts with cutbacks and short-sighted decisions when stock holders sneeze.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
