I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

The best part of working for a networking giant is that our network connects into our homes so working from home or the office can feel the same. The benefits are not bad but have slowly degraded over the years. And the salary seems to be tops for the Austin area.

Cons

I have not had a raise in 4 years and there is always the fear of being affected by a layoff in the future. There are no electric car hookups at the offices in Austin.

I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Rewards good, hard working employees. Depending on the department there are a lot of opportunities to work from home.

    Cons

A lot of politics sometimes. A lot of the vendors treat their employees poorly but it feels like Cisco management is more interested in saving money than keeping good talent around.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When there is a mass exodus of people, look at their managers.
