    Pros

Reasonable salary, good benefits, 401(k) matching, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, RSUs, still the leading company for network equipment, company will be around a long time.

    Cons

Unfortunately, Cisco is just not a really fun place to work. It's almost impossible to start new projects or fund new product offerings. There is a ton of process and the development pace is very slow. The company is run by finance and upper management mismanages the company pretty badly which is why there has been a continual stream of layoffs and high attrition rates in many business units.

    Advice to Management

Clean house. Learn from Google and Facebook (or any company where engineers get stuff done). Fire the consultants. Get rid of the acronym and flash card approach to culture.
