Pros

Great place to work. Also great place to learn technologies with the flexibility to move internally within other product groups.

Cons

Change is hard in a big company like cisco. Especially old timers are averse to change when it comes to better software development practices.

    Pros

Enjoy working on cross functional global teams - love the CVO 9Cisco Virtual Office) solution for telecommute. Great supportive colleagues.

    Cons

Feels a bit too tight in the new collaborative office space. Not everyone is comfortable with telecommute. Probably right choices with lay-offs last year, but still tough on everyone who left and who stayed.

    Pros

    Flexible work schedule and place
    Strong compensation package
Good opportunities to move around into different areas of company

    Cons

'Over' collaboration leads to slow and painful decision making process
Too many instances where employees that are 'bad' for the larger group are not dealt with appropriately

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a handle on too much collaboration and ensure right level of 'tops down' direction
Manage out employees who are no longer a fit and/or are negatively impacting the larger team
