    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Cisco Systems full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great flexibility with good benefits and vacation. Opportunities to use many tools and develop skills to move on to other places.

    Cons

Constant change in policy and management makes it hard to accomplish goals. If you were not a true Cisco employee meaning you came by way of acquisition moving up and around can be hard and you may be first to go when its time to cut. Depending on where you worked the pay was low and if you were not a "classic" Cisco employee meaning hired by Cisco not an acquisiton you were probably paid less and ranked lower on your team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand the roles of your employees and the needs of your customers. Learn to treat all employees equally no matter how they came to the company.
