Pros

Takes excellent care of terminal employees. Good salary and decent benefits, but no raises to account for increasingly more expensive benefits. Excellent diversity employee population.

Cons

Very constrained environment today. Limited growth options due to excessive cost control. Poor innovation lifecycle management. Internal competition of products and lack of long-term resolve to address key issues, such as network management.

Advice to Management

Simplify the product lines and focus like Apple did in 1997.

    Pros

Cisco is a terrific place to learn about new technologies and to sharpen your resume. The name carries a lot of weight. There are a lot of really sharp people working there.

    Cons

Management tends to play favorites and there are cliques of salespeople who have been around forever who seem to get the best accounts-and they are not always the hardest working AMs. Sometimes corners are cut to get deals booked at the end of the quarter. And the pressure to hit weekly goals is intense.
