I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Sharp, committed people. Worked in a advanced technology area. Did not have to travel. Had the opportunity to move between jobs and learn new things.

Cons

A fake "culture". Got tired of hearing Chambers talk about the "Cisco family" all the time. The business environment has nothing to do with being a family. I started calling my early retirement package a "mutual divorce agreement"

I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The insurance, 401K, ESPP benefits are great, and the pay is decent compared to similar companies. Cisco does a lot to get their employees excited about working there

    Cons

Hard to feel like you're making an impact at the company, constant fear of layoffs, hard to get compensation issues resolved, still under the 'old boys club' mentality

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Being in sales, people in my position are coin operated. When management delays insuring that their employees arent being properly compensated, sometimes it feels like a slap in the face. Part of their job is to ensure we're being paid for doing ours.
