Current Employee - Technical Leader

Pros

Benefits are great
Good level of respect among co-workers
Lots of resources to learn and leverage for customers
Big company and stable

Cons

Lots of overlap between groups doing the same thing
Turf battles between groups with lots of politics
pay growth is limited and minimal promotion opportunities

Advice to ManagementAdvice

To much focus on buzz words and architecture lacking the importance of the details. Hope we can spread the appreciation not only to sales, but to engineering.

    Pros

Great career development if located in HQ

    Cons

Poor work life balance as a result of sometimes unreasonable expectations

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need better work life balance, too many hours are expected, forced ranking is having negative impact

    Pros

    1) Stock Options offered through acquisition. Best opportunity to acquire company stock at attractive price.
    2) Modern campuses.
    3) Exposure to technology.

    Cons

    1) Management instability. (3 different managers assigned to our group in less than 6 months and I never met one of them).
    2) Questionable ethics.
    3) Big company running on auto pilot.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut down on the endless web meetings and conference calls. Develop new technologies, products and markets internally instead of constantly expanding through buckshot approach to acquisitions. Reward creativity rather than self-promotion.
