Current Employee – been working at Citi
Pros – Flexible Work benefits, generous time off package, company daycare, global mobility options, and plenty of work from home positions in IT.
Cons – 2011 will be the third year without significant raises or bonuses, even for high performing VPs. If you do decide to work for Citi you will hear a lot of talk about meritocracy, unfortunately it is just talk. Merit increases will not be given in 2011 once again, regardless of performance rating.
Advice to Senior Management – Invest in the existing staff. Much effort and money is spent surveying the staff, writing plans to address survey results, and then recruiting new staff because foundational concerns like compensation and quality of benefits are not addressed. Instead, focus on compensating and retaining quality staff.
