Pros

Big company, can move around after a year and they seem to prefer internal candidates

Cons

BIG company, multiple people doing the same job, the work you do goes unused, the work you do is unnecessary, Its one big mess. Plus, the medical benefits are the worst, 401K matching after a year, bonuses are awful.

I have been working at Citi full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice benefits, nice up to date building, family center, exercise & health care advice on site. A cafeteria is available on site as well.

    Cons

The turnover rate for sales associates is horrible. Upper management is always getting rid of slow performers instead of developing them. They expect new hires to come out of training to be sales, compliance, customer service experts yet make them fly through the calls. They require reps to push products on clients that call in and then wonder why survey results are not higher from customers. The reps have bonus money, raises taken away & get written up for not producing enough. They call them action plans or accountability plans and the director or operation manager use them as scare tactics.

    Advice to Management

Why not allow managers to spend more time training, developing reps instead of finding reasons to get rid of them? Isn't it more expensive to constantly replace them?

  2. Terrible, bureaucratic and wasteful company

    I worked at Citi full-time

    Pros

Large Tier 1 Bank Some talented employees

    Cons

Poor work environment - old offices, workstations Very political and weak senior management Hard to get work done - lots of process that adds little value Capital Markets technology is terrible - very bad development practices All about branding and no delivery - everything has "Citi" in the title!

    Advice to Management

Improve management and look to radically streamline the waste
