I worked at Citi full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Amazing senior talent base, broad array of financial businesses, signifcant opportunity for non US exposure.

Cons

The tighter the times, the more political it gets. Personal loyalty counts for too much in bad times.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take more risk in terms of getting the best people long term. In the Reed era this was business as usual, and they made it a point to reach across industries for talent at all levels. Now they're apparently too scared to make even one mistake, ever. Bad people can be fired, I can tell you.

    Pros

great benefits and decent pay. lots of paid time off and pretty flexible hours

    Cons

can be very stressful especially around tax time (feb through april); customers are often unreasonable and demanding. also, a lot of red tape and old computer systems which makes it hard to do your job effectively sometimes

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

have better communication with front-line employees since we are the most likely to recognize problems and suggest solutions.
