Former Employee - Sales and Service Representative in Jacksonville, FL
Former Employee - Sales and Service Representative in Jacksonville, FL

I worked at Citi full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Citi has superior insurance, including dental and vision. The facility is well kept and inexpensive daycare is available as well as a gym, post office, and medical center. There are family movie night in the cafeteria and various weekend events throughout the year.

Cons

Pay for sales and service representatives is $11.60 per hour. The "bonus" you hear about in training is almost unattainable because of the complexity of the bonus calculation formula. Managers want perfect customer satisfaction surveys but encourage high pressure sales techniques. Everyday you hear about talk time, offer rates and sales results. Don't expect any respect from your managers or the people you talk to on the phone.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Forget about forcing services down your client's throat and concentrate on superior customer service and your NPS scores will be better.

I worked at Citi full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Large company with room for advancement, exposure to new technologies, reasonable compensation,

    Cons

forced rankings have created a spooked herd mentality, morale of co-workers was very low, politics is very pervasive and is often more important that contribution, managers are not transformational, as an organization the dislike transparency and being exposed to some of the truths of their legacy systems and process, matrixed cooperation between cross functional teams in dysfunctional, no work life balance

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees like people not emp id #'s and sometime the right thing is more important than your annual bonus.

    Pros

Smart, hardworking people who are motivated

    Cons

    Little investment in junior talent

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve culture, promote internal mobility. Too many people at the firm for a short period of time. Would like to see people at the firm for 10, 15, 20 years in various roles during their tenures.
