“Equity Research Associate”
I worked at Citi full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – - Lot of responsibility
- Exposure to very smart investors
- Good way to learn about the equities business; interact with sales, trading, and other research teams
Cons – - Lack of well-defined path to promotion
- Associates often do more work than the senior analyst for half the pay or less
- Citi's internal processes often made writing/publishing reports painful
Advice to Senior Management – - Better comp for high-performing associates
- Reduce bureaucratic overhead
