I have been working at Citi full-time

Pros

Bankers' hours. Benefits, holidays a work life balance are great. There is never any pressure to work overtime or weekends. Good experience developing influencing skills in a large organization.

Cons

It always seems to be restructuring and refocusing and reprioritizing instead of actually accomplishing goals. It's very slow to adapt to changes. Hard to move up.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a way to utilize and acknowledge the talent that has been acquired. There are a lot of good people that could be doing a lot more but they are not given the opportunity.

    I worked at Citi full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Ablity in some groups to work from home.
    Nice amount of time off--However, you can't use sick time if you know in advance you're going to the hospital or are sick the night before you call off. And, you'll be lucky to take this time as it is a sweatshop mentality.

    Issues may change with the new CEO! But the layers of management under him need to be swept clear!

    Cons

    Lack of competent management and no real management direction.
    Reviews are based on popularity with managers not by productivity or preformance.
    Mangement refuses to listen and has no issue throwing people under the bus if it makes them look like they're on top of things.
    There's no training or onboarding, you're toss into the mix and they wait to see if you can swim.
    HR is of no help if there are issues.
    Health insurance is a bit sub-par for a company this size.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Citi needs to actually listen to the Voice of the Employee without that constant threat of retaliation.

    Pros

    Pretty easy to move up if you are qualified; Opportunities for success if you work hard

    Cons

    If you do not enjoy talking on the phone, it probably is not for you. If you have problems with the banking industry in general, definitely not for you
