I worked at Citi full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Citi is an equaliser. Consistency, perseverance, and hard work is rewarded. The company achieves a good balance between pushing performance vs pushing over employees to insanity levels.

    Management is top notch.

    Cons

Fluff is still around. Citi like aig always put bodies and focused less on efficiencies. Mgmt has woken up and concrete efforts being made to make it a lean, mean org.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop diluting title rewards, focus more on management directors to be hands on rather than hands off.

I have been working at Citi

    Pros

Worl/Life balance, decent pay, opportunities for advancement, fantastic training

    Cons

Even the most minute job postings have to be approved by very senior management (Executive MD and higher) which means that most managers cannot be bothered to run this gauntlet; resulting in too many long term contractors who should really be FTE's despte policies that go against this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is mainly bone left to cut in the back & middle office side, so attention must be paid to allowing managers to make hiring decisions while also focussing on front office positions, where there is still fat!
