I have been working at Citi full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

You can occasionaly find a pocket of good employees to work with it can be tolerable for awhile but will ultimately be short lived.

    Cons

There is no shortage of department managers that are willing to grandstand, and cut the throats of their employees in an attempt to make themselves look better. Layoff's are constant and will remain so. Citi is to big to FAIL, to big to mabage, to big to think, to big to care for any shareholder, customer or employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell or spinoff every business unit of the company. Disolve the corporation entirely in the manner it stands today. There are no econimies of scale to be had, the amount of waste due to mismanagement is absolutely staggering. Want to cut employees? Eliminate 50 - 75% of the staff from the level of director up.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
  2.

Enormous amount of organizational overhead, micromanagement, and corporate dysfunction.

    I worked at Citi

    Pros

They support remote access (i.e. work from home), benefits are good.

    Cons

Too many chiefs and no indians. Managers use employees as shields, so they have people to blame when things go awry. Huge focus on employee development that is totally disingenuous, since the goal every year is to find defenseless people to fire. Too many senior people in ministerial roles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hold your Directors and MDs accountable for something other than allowing them to blame subordinates.
