I have been working at Citi full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Great salary, lots of vacation days, pretty much a 9 to 5 job

Cons

No opportunities for promotion. You work with and report to a lot of unqualified people.

Advice to Management

There's a reason why Citi isn't #1. Unqualified VPs and SVPs.

I have been working at Citi full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - The good people are really good and want to make it a better company technology wise - Good base compensation - Good vacation

    Cons

    - Too large of a company - Too many legacy system - Out dated technologies - Too many people that have been working there too long and are not up to par with new hires - Big push to off shore to low cost locations

    Advice to Management

The company is too big to be effective and the strategy to off shore out of NY & London is making us not competitive

I worked at Citi full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits - health insurance, plenty of vacation and sick leave from day one. Flexible schedules depending on the position. Used to have great tuition reimbursement, not sure now.

    Cons

Great benefits are to offset the "corporate hamster wheel" day to day experience. Managers treated employees like children - small "rewards", contests etc... A monotonous clock-watching job.

    Advice to Management

In the absence of major changes in procedures, I think upper management has it about right - they cannot improve the job much, so great benefits are what can be offered.
