Pros

* Great work/life balance
* Vast majority of people are friendly and willing to help
* Global firm, with regular interaction to all corners of the world

Cons

* London is no longer seen as a growth site for back office functions such as Technology, thus attrition is high and back-fill is usually elsewhere in the globe
* Poor pay compared to market rates
* Limited scope for career progression

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Citi has many layers within the organisation. Often messages of direction and values are lost in translation between the executive leadership team in New York, and the regional management teams. When drilling into the regions, staff are not empowered to fulfil the aspirations of the firm without going back to New York for approval.

    Has some world class professionals

    Cons

    Mid level management too clubby - makes decisions based on own "silo" mentality as opposed to what is good for the firm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Cut off / revamp the mid level management. Walk the floor more!

    Pros

    the culture
    schedules are flex. and time off is good
    pay is competitive
    the work itself isn't too hard just a lot of it

    Cons

    changes are not made fast enough
    communication needs to keep improving
    benefits are getting worse (i.e. 401k match and health care)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    break down the silos, revamp policies to focus on the client, that will make the employees feel better about coming to work, and with happy clients and employees the stockholders should see better results and be happy as well
