Current Employee - Business Analyst in New York, NY

Pros

Learning Opportunities are immense. Senior managers are easily approachable, and encourage innovation and free speech. Lots of independence to work your way as long as you don't get in someones nose. Schmoozing around won't get you much without hard work and results. Friendly coworkers.

Cons

1. Stereotyping of roles.
2. Lower Salaries as compared to competitors
3. Being a small fish in a large pond - a number
4. Crazy industry to be in now

Advice to ManagementAdvice

They appear to be doing what they can to fix the mess. They really need to look into employee morale in the wake of what's happening around.

    Pros

The benefits were outstanding! 22 vacation days, and 12 "personal days" which were to be taken for any given reason...that along with 10 holidays -- astronomical!! They were very concerned with VOE, the Voice of the Employee. This was a new concept for me as I was surrounded by the mantra "VOC" Voice of the Customer and our bottom line was obviously tied to bringing in new customers and/or clientele. The Blue Ash facility is outstanding and a real plus to the community. I think they'll eventually make this facility the de facto Center of Excellence; but it will take time.

    Cons

The management team in Long Island City was horrendous about assigning responsiblities, guiding new employee's or offering constructive feedback. I knew that I had made a mistake after just 3 weeks of accepting a job with them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a plan for onboarding new employee's -- listen and give creedence to outgoing employee's during the exit interview!

Current Employee - Senior Vice President in Elk Grove Village, IL

    Pros

Diverse company with abundance of lateral and vertical opportunities; overseas opportunities if you desire; decent pay scale comparing to similar financial service companies; good work life balance.

    Cons

matrix organization created by inefficient centers of "excellence". Bureaucratic in many areas that creates unnecessary work; Lack of true vision from senior management, more block and tackling and passive reactions. Poor presentation skills throughout, very common to see powerpoint presentation as simple as Excel Copy and paste. way too much restrictions caused partially by regulations, employees are scared of saying what they think.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

need to strengthen talent base and grow leaner
