Pros

Good salary and ample holidays and vacations.

Cons

Incompetent CIO and IT directors. Extremely obsolete technologies (PS Student Administration APP is almost 20 years old). Political and toxic working environment. All real IT work is outsourced to expensive third-parties with no results but a waste of taxpayers money.

Current Employee - Associate Professor  in  Chicago, IL
Current Employee - Associate Professor in Chicago, IL

    Pros

Great benefits: vacation, salary, holidays, tuition reimbursement, Heath insurance, vision, dental, work hours, retirement benefits.

    Cons

Political work environment, limited advancement opportunities unless a member of the "chosen few." Unprofessional environment. Earned degreed personnel, but limited critical thinking skills, no teaching experience, racist, poor grammar, poor speaking skills with "ghetto" language, lack of high student expectations and too busy helping students play the system instead of teaching them how to function in the demands of the work environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the staff. Require independent teacher evaluations. Hire based on abilities, not by who one knows.
