    Pros

    The insurance benifits, job security.

    Cons

    The rules are not the same for everyone, some people get special privileges while others don't. The key to recognition and advancement here is not what you know or how hard you work, but who you know. Working extra hours without being paid it not appreciated and management kills any motivation for hard work or loyality and dedication. People with no management training, skill or experiences are promoted from within. Knowledge of the law regarding worker's rights is completely unknown or ignored. Management calls employees they personally don't like names and makes fun of them, for example calling them "dumb as a stump" or telling them they need to fill out the i.d.10 t form (idot form). When employees complain to HR, the employee is black- balled or labeled a disgruntled employee. HR never supports the rights of the employee; there is nowhere to turn if an employee feels they are being treated unfairly. Requests for a union have been refused and highly discouraged. Employees were made to train and "do tricks" when examiners were here to judge for the Baldridge Award and the Sterling Award (twice). The only ones that benefited from the whole horse and pony show were upper management that put it on their resume in order to move onto higher paying jobs with private companies.

    Treat your employees fairly and with respect. Reward hard work and dedication.

    Family-friendly environment, close-knit. Conduct surveys with citizens and local businesses to assess effectiveness. Centrally located.

    Cons

    Flat organization, limited growth opportunities.

    Provide and/or create promotional and employee growth potential in order to retain current employees. Maintain ongoing dialogue or distribute employee satisfaction surveys.
