I have been working at City of New York full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Safe, secure job. Conservative approach to employment. The harder you work, the more responsibility you receive. Over time, you could rise in the City and receive better compensation.

    Cons

Low starting salaries and no raises unless you're politically connected. Your first salary locks in your future earning potential so negotiate well! Promises for future reviews are regularly broken.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward productivity with greater pay, not just more work!
