I worked at Citysearch

Pros

Compensation can be very lucrative if you work very hard at selling new business. I felt management was competent and fair to sales reps.

Cons

The online site citysearch.com had major failures when the G3 upgrade took place. Advertisers were charged for ads that disappeared or fell to the bottom of the search. Pay-per-click model was scrutinized by advertisers. Many cancellations in book of business that had to be replaced quickly. High pressure environment - but thats typical in sales.

    Great benefits, pay is decent if you work hard & build a book of business, some of the people are cool to work with

    Cons

    upper level management is awful & seem to be out of touch with what is happening in the field, frequent change in commissions, products, quotas, extremely high turnover,

    Talk to your sales staff across the nation--find out how they feel about working for the company, what they would change & what they need to feel & be more successful

    Pros

    Nice relaxed setting and work life balance
    If you have a positive forward thinking manager than it sure helps in achieving success

    Cons

    The platforms being sold do not work
    You work hard to get a sale, and than the real hard work begins

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I would consider territories or certain verticals where the reps can call on and know they are protected. Do a better job of keeping a customer instead of attaining a customer
