Claire's itself is a great company, it is the store manager that makes or breaks it

I have been working at Claire's Stores part-time (less than a year)

Pros

you get a really good discount.
it is fun to work there at times
if you are manager you work by yourself a lot

Cons

you do not get a lot of hours. it really depends on the management of your store if you will like it or not. the dress code is bogus, you all have to wear the same color shirt. for example Monday for that week is pink everyone scheduled for Monday must wear pink. also you do not make enough money to go and buy all the stuff that is necessary to follow dress code

Advice to ManagementAdvice

being a manager myself at Claire's i would say stop hiring so many third keys. there is no reason to have four of them, nobody gets enough hours to make the job worth it.

I worked at Claire's Stores as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Customers, Money, Experience, view of life,

    Cons

time management, insulting, makes you depressed

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Claire's feels more like a Pyramid Scheme then a retail store. It's a joke how the ADS determines a person's worth and value. (If it's not 16 or higher, you will get hell) Dress code is a joke. If one person wears jeans, everyone has to as well, along with a matching color top. (Which means buying new clothing for your store work attire) The pay is a joke for the tasks in demand. Get used to working all day alone, with no lunch break let alone toilet breaks. People need to be treated like people and not some slave in this store.
In my life, I have never had a job this bad. It's so disorganized I am surprised this store is even still open. I have customers who come up to me asking, why every year the items get cheaper and don't last as long. *Low quality.
