Pros

Fun place to work. Co-workers are a blast to work with. Lots of extra perks, like concert tickets, to offset the pay.

Cons

Pay is pretty low. Management doesn't always give preference to current employees for other job opportunities. Hours can be hard sometimes.

I have been working at Clear Channel

    Pros

    -Travel
    -work enviorment
    -strucutre of sales teams
    -split of markets fair
    -open communication
    -Finally provided laptops
-mix of talent amoung sales teams
-sales incentives-but beware you are taxed on all of them

    Cons

    -Lack of oppurtunity for growth
-Base salary is $14K and there has not been one raise in three years even when it was promised
    -commission rates continue to drop
    -bonus pay outs have dropped
-when you sell a large contract they do not give you the full commission rate because they state it is not the "norm" you recieve less then what the commission structures state
-turnover is through the roof averaging 100+ a year in turnover
-lack of tools to do job
    -ineffective training
-no formal training for managment leads to inneffective management and poor moral
-moral has dropped due to lack of oppurtunity for growth, base salary so low, drop in commission pay outs, poor communication with sales team
-unequal treatment of sales team- you are told your oppurtunity to recieve "better markets" or "project-new airports" is based on your sales of current markets yet the same individuals continue to receive the new markets
-overall i would not recommend this place for anyone unless you want a quick resume builder and can afford to live off the base plus minimal commission your first couple quarters

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to your people
have a true grass roots meeting with your sales team-not just for show- but to actually take what these people are saying and do something about it
-show some loyalty to your people
-when your CEO's tells you he has 100+ resumes and can find anyone to do "our" job...that is not the way to motivate a sales team.
-Value your empolyess, keep your promise of the raise in base salary and truely LISTEN to what they have to say

    Pros

Media company has the largest shares of terrestrial radio stations in the country. If you have schmoozed the right people and not rocked the boat about the operational policies and lack of resources you have the opportunity to advance in market size.

    Cons

Compensation is low and demands are high. If you want to work for free while the company execs get a bonus go for it. Ratings revenue and cash flow regardless of how much time you need to put in because resources have been downsized.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your operations again. How do you grow Cume and TSL without a marketing budget/ department? You get what you pay for when the people who are still left in the business would leave if they had any marketable skill set other than talking on a microphone.
