After several 'Reductions in Force', downsizing is probably over, hopefully the paranoia will end.

I have been working at Clear Channel

Pros

Larger company with above average medical, dental, vision benefits (as of 2010). Camaraderie when under the gun, Most software is proprietary to Clear Channel which can be a double-edged sword.

Cons

Many upper management changes seem to occur every two years, restructuring from Regional VP on down. Corporate initiatives are driven from San Antonio with little help in executing at the local level. Lots of workers have 9-5 mentality.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please go beyond the 'managing by walking around' approach, and actually respond to issues in a timely manner. Reign in a few of the senior Account Executives whose attitudes have no place in the workforce anymore.

    Pros

    Fast pace - - Big company name

    Cons

    No direction from upper management -- Genaral Manager has the worst people skills - lots of promises and no deliver...........worked their for a couple of years and commission structure keep going down

    Pros

    Extensive centralized resources generally made accessible to local markets. This includes audience and individual industry presentation material, research, creative support.

    Cons

    Culture of intimidation and fear has arisen against a backdrop of excessive unsustainable debt and resulting operational cutbacks. Compensation structures tied to volatile pricing of commercial inventory has negatively impacted sales force morale.

    Sell assets to operators committed to local programming
