I worked at Clearwire full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pay is OK. High turnover among executives means that if you have a manager you don't care for, he probably will be gone in 3 months. The bad news is, someone just like him may take his place!

    Cons

Very aggressive, cut-throat culture. Lots of one-ups-manship. Part of the problem is that they favor very young executives- one C-level executive after another for years was too inexperienced, which made them insecure, and sometimes a bit of a terror to work with. Their turnover is huge - lots of people fired after just a few months because someone didn't like them. This is fact, not opinion, as turnover is measurable. Part of the issue is the founders - a group of very aggressive people who were GREAT at raising capital and buying up spectrum, but not at creating corporate cultures that last. "Cutthroat" and "Clearwire" each have nine letters in them. Just sayin'.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell to Sprint, or another major telco. Seriously. It's been six years and if you haven't built a healthly corporate culture by now, why should anyone believe it will happen next year? Why not sell to a company that has a workable culture - Clearwire does not. You have some great spectrum assets from the early days and that's worth something. You can monetize that. But run a business with that corporate culture? Why do you even bother?

My experience so far and still remains being constantly moved around, and having an extremely inconsistent schedule.

Current Employee - National Retail Account Executive in Las Vegas, NV

I have been working at Clearwire full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are few good things about working for clear in a slower market like Las Vegas, that is building good relationships within the retail locations that you are working at, in hopes of leaving for a better opportunity. Also gaining knowledge of products that are new to the world of computers and tech toys.

    Cons

The location at which you work changes constantly. The hours, due to over hiring too many people, have dropped dramatically and makes that work/life balance very difficult to set budgets. And to add to the fact, if anyone is looking for any kind of advancement any higher than the position that you are hired on at, I'd look elsewhere. This company isn't where it wants to be yet and shouldn't be giving its teams false hopes of moving up into a management or corporate position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If your goal it to keep your top sales people consistently reaching goals set, you have to provide some kinds of intensives, and not over hire a workload of employees and dramatically cut hours.
