    I have been working at Clinique full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Gratis and the seminars and classes are great.

    Cons

    Working for Macys and Clinique was maddening!! Favoritism was obvious and not a very healthy working environment. Pressure for sales was put before anything.Very strict and very little rewards.

    One rule for all. Not just some.

    Pros

    Gratis, Company has a great reputation for some of it's products, pay was decent, if you love customer service, and make overs this is the perfect job.

    Cons

    Co workers constantly gossiping about other employees, Drama at the work place, very stressful trying to reach your sales goal when you work with vultures willing to cheat, and steal just to obtain their own goal, no sense of team work, lack of leadership, very phony upper management who will tell you anything to pacify you. Most of the employees know nothing about actual skincare only what they have been brainwashed to believe. If the counter clique does not like you they will make your life miserable. This includes if you are the manager.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Just because someone has been with Clinique for a million years, is a "pressure" Sales person, or has a relative who has worked for Clinique for decades does not make their behavior okay. Stealing sales, aggressive confrontations, and gossiping should not be allowed. You should closely monitor who Clinique hires currently one of the employees did not pass the talent plus interview yet was hired because a relative works for Clinique This is completely wrong. Employees need to learn what teamwork is. Upper management should not encourage gossip or a "clique like" atmosphere.
