Pros

I was able to expand my hospitality experience with taking my first bar management position.

Cons

The cons to working in a private members only business club was, only working with the club members and no outside interactions.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

To be more consistent with the changing of food and beverage managers as far as staff relations go.

    Pros

    Current manager is great, fellow employees are nice, work is interesting

    Cons

    Low pay, horrible benefits, computer systems are a joke, no raises for even top performers in over six years!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    When you pay one employee in a Club in the high five figures and everyone else is considered highly paid if they make $10-$12 to shouldn't wonder why 90 percentage of your employees would leave today if they had a better offer. Your members would be shocked if they know how little you invest in your employees.

    Pros

    Great benefits for a server/waiter position can be had after six months with the company, but may be hard to keep for some as hours can be hard to retain consistently at points of the year. Free use of certain club amenities such as golf courses, tennis courts, and fitness centers.

    Cons

    Poor company atmosphere. Employees do not seem to trust management. There is little room to move up. Decision making by management has done little to improve day to day operations since my hiring. The discount given to employees of 50% off food is hardly usable as it would be less expensive to eat at a restaurant outside of the club than to use the discount on the fairly expensive items on the club's menu.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Please get rid of the gratuity system that is in place for servers, It will motivate servers to better please membership and lead to better income for servers and bartenders. Take action that make will make employees feel as though if a member is insulting or rude, it will be dealt with in a way that will lead to it's end. Explain the Club's decision making in monthly newsletters. Either fix or get better equipment for kitchens, bars, etc.
