Pros

Great brand and resume builder. If you put the extra effort in you can learn.

Cons

Constant overload of directives. Tough to get things done right as you are constantly being overwhelmed. Internal process is also very frustrating to work with to get things done.

Overall, Coke's excellence in branding and marketing will overcome its dysfunctional finance group.

    Pros

Salary/benefits are above average. Work/life balance has been good. That may change as the North American Integration (between legacy Coke North America aka CCNA and legacy Coca Cola Enterprises aka CCE) continues. The Minute Maid business unit is a great example of a team working cross functionally to grow the business.

    Cons

Coke is becoming even more Atlanta-centric as the integration progresses so career opportunities in a field office will become even harder to come by. Finance in general and especially product supply finance could be characterized as a static, defensive, silo organization that fiercely defends the status quo. Phrases like "keep doing what you have been doing" and "it's not perfect but it is good enough" are uttered quite often by mid-level and senior management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The impact of the integration on the Still beverages will be interesting. The current course seems to be to treat all brands like brand Coke. Approaches that work well in a Sparkling model where capacity is not an issue (due to flat to declining demand), a small group of raw materials with little volatility, and low fixed costs may not work so well for a Still portfolio where capacity is an issue (due to growing demand), has a wider range of raw materials with much more volatility, and incurs higher costs. Trying to fit every brand into a Sparkling model could turn some once viable Still brands into discontinued items.
