I worked at Code and Theory full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Good Intentions.
Some real gems in the talent pool.
    Sexy office.
Small size gives you access to everyone no matter what level.
Salaries can be competitive if you have the right history.

    Cons

They love you until they don't and then you're out.
    Resistant to alternative solutions.
Rehash the same solutions in every new engagement.
Executive design leadership is disengaged from design team.
Management is overstretched and fails to truly connect with staff.
Lost most of their top designers in the last 18 months.
    Benefits are extremely uncompetitive.
Not a place for people with families.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Act as guides and truly lead rather than favoring a few veterans and pushing out staff who need guidance. The veterans are not as golden as they're portrayed.

I have been working at Code and Theory full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Make your own way
If you want more, they will give it to you. If you sit around and wait for things to come to you, not the right place.

    Cons

This is a progressive firm..this isn't the environment for someone that is reclusive and wants to just do "ok" work and go home. You need to bring your A game.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Longer term planning will go a long way!
