Pros

There are no pros which i foresee except for the senior manager and above levels who are happy with the pay they are getting

Cons

Long work hours

In the disguise of giving bonuses over 100% their onsite pay is much lesser than its peers like Infosys. Infy will be paying around $72K for the same experience level guy while cognizant will be paying $60K

Hard to get promotions even after better performance

Lot of people across accounts before you to reach the next level as part of the promotion cycle

They will initiate green cards in EB2 and EB3 categories just to make the employees stuck once the I-140 gets approved within a span of 1.5 years. After that till you get your GC / EAD you should be working day and night like a slave for them with very less salaries. This is the reason behind initiating Green Card after completing one year of service at Onsite

No onsite opportunities for new joiners

Unrealistic business growth expectations by the senior management. For example if the growth expectation is 20% for this year and if its achieved then the next year it will be revised for another 23% on top of what they reached this fiscal year. This will be real hard to achieve for any company and in this disguise your Promotions will be delayed and the bonuses will be hit.

If promotions are delayed obviously more number of people will be reaching that stage aspiring for the next level and career growth is getting impacted.

Last but not least they will not be handing your I-140 even though its approved thereby they want to just extend the current H1B for another 3 years and make you work. But what many people working in cognizant don't know is that they can obtain the copy of their I-140 from USCIS and they can switch the company using that. But they need to apply for Labor and I-140 once again in the new company. But the good thing is that your priority date is set once the I-140 from cognizant is approved.

Folks!! - Decide yourself after reading the above review.
