I have been working at Coit Services part-time (less than a year)

Pros

High volume call center, therefore the day goes fast.

Cons

Under staffed, modern day slavery, disrespectful and degrading to their associates, no raises, phone script in place that causes customers to be disgruntled by our robot vibe, monitoring of calls to ensure script is followed to the T and if not you are coached, money hungry to the highest degree having a "stand by route" that makes customer stay in limbo, %2 commission if you are full time, not allowed to place your phone on DND, and the paperwork and calls keep coming.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix all the above issues.

    I worked at Coit Services full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    There are no real Pros to working for this company. The large majority of the technicians were dissatisfied with management and the lack of work life balance. Having no time during the summer months to enjoy time off with family, the lack of room to be upwardly mobile and take on new challenges and responsibilities and the lack of leadership from the general manager.

    Cons

    The downsides are the physical toll taken by working alone and by working as many at 18 hours in a day and sometimes longer. The lack of pay and opportunity for slary increase. The overly critical management. No work/life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    There has to be balance and the ability to move forward. Managers that go out of their way to call their subordinates stupid and use other forms of what can only be viewed as bullying is unacceptable. The company has many things it could improve on especially listening to the technicians.

    Pros

    60 year old company
    A recognized name

    Cons

    Did not want to spend money to advertise to the liens that they were trying to gain.
    Stuck in their ways
    10% profit margin - no room for growth due to bing scared of loosing money
    Same marketing plan from the 70's & 80's - not current or relevant
    Operating systems are dated. Will not even pen money to have Microsoft office
    Two if fervent operating systems - makes impossible for managers to know who's doing what, who the previous clients were & how to reconnect with once solid clients
    Lack of follow up
    Lack of proper forecasting
    Lack of adequate budgets
    Lack of support
    High turn over
    Lack of quality in talent
    Low pay
    Very demeaning environment
    One of the main managers has a real attitude problem. She's a female in a predominant male industry & has a bad attitude - doesn't respect men, her immediate supervisor & yells/belittles her male employees.
    Expects everyone to drink the coolaide - you don't and make suggestions as far as how o better the market, they ask you to either keep it to yourself or write a letter to corporate.

    This company will continue to loose market share until their is a complete change in management from the top down. Systems are dated, the approach is dated & the marketing campaign is getting beat by the majority of the marketplace.
