    Frustrating, overworked, underappreciated, ass-kissing rewarded.

I have been working at College Board

    Pros

Benefits: 20 PTO days (for new hires); 403b; health/dental/vision/; tuition reimbursement/ 10 paid sick days.

Pay is OK (but not great)

f you're good at your job, it's not that hard.

Most of the people are generally OK.

    Cons

Excellent work is not rewarded; ass-kissing is.

Having a baby seems to be a great way to network.

    Vast pay discrimination.

IF you get promoted, you will only get the bare minimum of the pay scale of your new position; if a new person was hired, they could easily negotiate for more. So experience and knowledge mean NOTHING.

Little to no room for advancement. If you're good at your job, your manager will try to keep you there.

Lots of lip service to "promoting from withing," but very little action to that effect.

Stupid hierarchy; chain of command. God forbid you "go over someone's head" to ask a question that they wouldn't know anyway.

    OCCUPY THE COLLEGE BOARD!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually support employees' desire to advance in their career.

Reward good work. Praise people when they deserve it.

Don't take credit for your employees' work. Give credit where credit is due.

Be honest. Be real. Don't BS. And don't fault your employees for being real people who sometimes have bad days.
