Keep fighting the people that report to you to understand the opportunity they have so they do not waste the valuable time they have to be successful

The job is right if you're the right person and you get the right franchisee.....other than that, I do not suggest

    Pros

Working outside, physical labor, customer interaction (if you're franchisee doesn't try to micromanage everything)

    Cons

Too many to name, but primarily on a direct franchisee to painter/job site manager interaction

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to maintain higher OSHA regulation and maintenance. Painters should not be penalized for lack of equipment from franchise runners.

    Pros

Learn how to scale a business
    Learn how to multi-task effectively
learn how to create an action plan & set goals
    learn how to manage employees
learn how to run a contacted business
learn how to work with customers

    Cons

hard to make a ton of money first year
targets are high for making back your investment
    royalties suck
lots of hard work and not a lot of reward unless you really kill 100K +
don't insure franchisee's, pay for it if you get injured
    company doesn't back you up
pay for company advertising campaigns & services

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

back up your employees and make it clear they aren't covered under their insurance policies & don't make them buy supplies they don't need and do marketing things they cant afford. Such as 1500 to send direct mail. THe company should pay for this, not the franchisee. It's the whole point of buying into a brand name.
