coworkers are great and direct supervisors are decent but top management doesn't have a clue

I have been working at Colonial Williamsburg Foundation full-time

    Pros

The hours are good a typical 9-5 job. In my department there are a good amount of breaks. The benefits are good and you get overtime. The people that work here are generally pretty cool.

    Cons

Unless you have a great ability to smile when guests are being super annoying don't work here. The pay is not that great.

I worked at Colonial Williamsburg Foundation full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Beautiful setting. Great if you like history.

    Cons

Senior management is clueless. it's all about pleasing donors and since the operation bleeds money on every level it makes the job of middle managers almost intolerable. Imagine being pushed to make a profit and then find out that there is no hope of doing so. Bonuses??? Forget it. This is a losing operation. Don't waste your time. Work for folks who really care about a profitable business and not one that just tries (and not too well) to lose the least amount possible (even though it's in the millions).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to move Colin and his senior team out ASAP. Until you get some progressive managment in place and get rid of the geriatric management now running the place, there is little to no hope.
