Pros

1> Top management is young. 2> Yes, they are very encouraging of giving the younger generation a chance to show what they are capable of. 3> Yes, they are always on the look out for "young, dumb and stupid" to slog for hours and hours but there is your chance to Shine! 4> Hotel level management works under a lot of pressure but that provides an even greater opportunity to mature and adapt to the ever changing norms of this industry.

Cons

1> Lack of proper HR dept. No way to express your concerns or questions and be anonymous at the same time. 3> Lack of the concept of proper training prior to starting employment. 2> No assistance with tuition for higher studies for Managers and Supervisors.

Advice to Management

1> Support your Managers and respect their decisions. You have no idea what your line-level Managers go through each and every day. A little thank you from time to time from the CEO's office would a nice gesture and a tremendous tool for motivation. 2> As Ken Hardin rightfully says, "you simply can’t make your employees want to do something just because YOU know they'd be good at it." He further says,"Employees' ambitions are the net results of a million factors ranging from educational background to current family circumstances, and the best you can hope to do is understand them, not change them. If you try to push an employee to "step up to the plate" when he/she simply has no interest in doing so, all you're going to accomplish is frustrating yourself and alienating that team member. Even worse, you may overlook another motivated team member who may not seem as promising but who is eager to impress and to learn."

    Pros

Great travel perks! They own some great branded hotels. You can find work at allot of their properties. Times are tough as we all know. If you need to make some money you can do just fine if you look.

    Cons

They have some crazy policies that are applied to all their properties. They call it spec. So if you visit a hotel in NY you will find the same menu in FL. Common sense is hard to find.

    Advice to Management

Management should pay more attention to their staff. "Good people have good ideas" Listen with an open mind and you might learn something.
