Very informal atmosphere with a lot of autonomy and little oversight if you are competent and do your job well.

Not a lot of career growth for Faculty Assistants

    Pros

    The people are amazing, friendly, and intelligent. It is such a pleasure to work with capable and motivated individuals who want to improve the world in so many different facets.

    Cons

    Every large entity has their own problems, so I believe the cons to working here are similar to other large organizations.

    Pros

    Location, New York is awesome. The benefits were good too.

    Cons

    Bureaucracy...but that's there wherever you go. Salary was a little low for NYC.

    None. Most of my interaction was with my PI, less with the university as a whole.
