I worked at Columbia University full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

An ideal place to start. Colleagues and environment are truly nurturing. There is ample opportunity to learn on the job and contribute. Benefits include tuition reimbursement for self and immediate family.

    Cons

Basic benefits are good, but some may find the salary low. Ultimately one would have to pursue a doctoral degree in order to have mobility within the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None. My managers were supportive and looked for opportunities to develop staff.

    Pros

Benefits. Salary if you can find the right niche.

    Cons

Sink or swim philosophy. Morningside is more laid back than CUMC, which can be vicious - but if you can make it there, you can, in fact, make it anywhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
