    I worked at Comcast

    Pros

Discounted service as an employee. Co-workers are generally good people but they all have fairly poor morale because of management.

    Cons

Mostly everything else. I am literally surprised that they can stay in business with the way they treat their customers let alone their employees. They play all of the politically correct games (internally) but they don't mean a word of it. Every year, just before the holidays, they fire groups of employees (not based on performance). One can only speculate why that happens but I can tell you that it sucks the life (and loyalty) out of their employees.

Technology is going to erode their market share (because their processes are too bogged down to be proactive or even reactive), greatly accelerated by their extremely poor customer service and employees that are dead inside.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management at Comcast will not listen to employee feedback. They will make a great show out of asking your opinion but instead of using that feedback they will instead tell you (with kool-aid stained lips) why your opinion is wrong (they spend a great deal of time on this fruitless exercise annually).

These people are in it to please the people on the rung above them. They don't care to do what is right .... they do what will keep their superior off of them. Instead of being leaders (leadership???) they are sycophants. They are incapable of speaking up because they are not leaders ... they are followers. Unfortunately the people on the rung above them (the ones they are trying to please) are further and further removed from the processes and, most importantly, the customer. This leads to unhappy customers and employees that don't care any longer. Hmmm ... does that sound like Comcast????

This company finds it so hard to please customers because each subsequent "leader" has his head so far up their superior's butt (and they are happy there) that they are completely numb to the disfunction around them.

Senior leadership believes that things are great and they can't understand why they are constantly voted one of the worst companies in America. It's because the people (mid-management) that should be telling them the truth are more worried about kissing up and self preservation than doing the right thing.

My advice .... wake up and believe what the customers are telling you and listen to the non- management employees. Fix the problems .... don't just pay lip service. Otherwise Comcast ... welcome to La Brea!
