Former Employee - Changed So Much Who Knows

I worked at Comcast full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The only thing that was really good was the discounted cable service.

    Cons

Cut base pay and have to make up in commission, but are told they are "not doing a pay cut" Increase insurance rates but yet don't give pay increases. Tell some employees they have topped out but yet refuse to provide a pay structure scale. Move up one level or more but yet still no increase. Only advancement opportunties are if you want to relocate. There is no "work/life" balance, your hours will get changed on a dime and if you have a set schedule of maybe higher education or daycare, that is "oh well" work it out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest with your employees instead of trying to cover up things. Employees do understand the "business needs" but maybe you should realize the "life needs" employees do have a life and hour changes just based on a corportate decision is not always the best even for the market area. Respect your actual front counter employees, they also take a lot from a customer not just DSR's and Tech's. Just because and idea looks good on paper doesn't mean it is really a "good idea". Take care of your loyal long term customers, not just the new. You are currently ranked number 1 and it takes a lot of hard work to get there, but being number 1 doesn't mean stomping all over the lower food chain. Remember the lower good chain has had a LOT to do with you being number 1. Maybe someone should take a look at the management in the Region/Divisional areas.

Former Employee - Sales Representative in Manassas, VA

I worked at Comcast full-time for more than a year

    Pros

call center atmosphere; dont really have to dress up, gym in building, tuition reimbursement

    Cons

shady political management- they will always find something to get on you about
we cant't be real with customers, can't offer them the best deals. we r told to offer them full rate first.
bad commission structure- previous structure had potential of reaching 6 figures new one will have u happy with just making 45k including commission

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

keep it real with us. if you are going to substantially change commission structure, give us the real reasons, not that you want to help those who arent hitting their quota.
